3 Fun Things To Do In Orlando
- Universal Studios Orlando: For coaster buffs, The Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket roller coaster and the Revenge of the Mummy fit the bill. The coaster lets you pick your own music for the ride and the Mummy has real fire walking all over the walls. Totally cool. Take a visit to Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley and pop into the wand shop or stop in to the ale house for a frosty butter beer. It is most heavenly goodness. Try your skills zapping aliens on the Men In Black ride or take a leisurely bike ride with E.T. For my money, I’d just as soon camp out somewhere under a tree and suck down a turkey drumstick. There’s really nothing better.
- Universal CityWalk: Restaurants and bars aplenty with something for everyone. Sit on the roof of Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville or check out the rock n roll tree of life in the Hard Rock Cafe. Every bar at Universal CityWalk has a different feel so whether you’re at Bob Marley’s or Pat OBrien’s each place has a unique climate all it’s own.
The Cowfish: Burgers and sushi. That’ what I’m talking about. An unusual, absolutely luscious combo. How do you pick from the best sushi AND the best burger in town. Wait for it…. “Burgushi”! Sushi rolls created using burger stuff, and sandwiches with bangin sushi ingredients. Your tongue won’t know what to do. Get right out of town! For those who can’t make up their mind, The Cowfish has a bento box to sample a mini-burger along with your choice of sushi roll and three side items. Yea, you heard it right.
- Islands of Adventure: Just more sick fun. Plenty of big rides for the roller coaster junkies and smaller fun for the tots. The HULK starts out so fast your face will slide off and the Spider Man virtual ride is the best ever. Visit the Dr. Seuss land sit under a truffula tree. Be on the lookout for the new Island of Kong ride in 1016. Islands of Adventure has an epic thrill and a one-in-a lifetime adventure around every corner. Get on board with Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey to feel what it’s like to actually fly around a quiddich match. But wait! What’s that up ahead? Join the fray on Marvel’s Super Hero Island, and yes, the Silver Surfer is well represented.
This room is for Deceptacons only I guess. Nobody wants to be involved in a breach of security. The Transformers 3D ride is so terribly cool you’ll likely wet your pants, so wear underwear or go on a water ride next so no one will notice. Check out this 360 video of Diagon Alley. That’s the wand store to the right and all those people you see are my close friends. You see those glasses? I got those for five bucks.
After a day of walking all over Orlando, listening to complaining kids, there’s nothing better than knocking back a few butter beers in Diagon Alley. They’ll let anyone in here. I had to carry her over my should for the rest of the day. Realizing and admitting you have a butter beer problem is the first step to healing. Isn’t she cute though?
The Nail Travels, Makobiscribe and SeeUsTrip travel teams thank the folks at Universal for letting us dangle with them for a couple days. You really don’t have to go anywhere else. Park the car and leave it parked. You’ll only need to go back so you can drop off the loot you are winning in the game booths.
